Sharjah Chamber Receives Minister of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) affirmed its keenness to strengthen and develop economic relations between Sharjah and the Republic of Costa Rica and to utilize all available facilities in developing the possible cooperation frameworks between economic events in both countries and increasing investments and encouraging the private sector to participate in the trade fairs and economic events held in both Sharjah and Costa Rica. Sharjah Chamber expressed its appreciation for the efforts made by the Costa Rican side, as represented by the diplomatic mission of the UAE’s organizing of visits by official and commercial delegations to Sharjah and  identify investment opportunities and advantages available to the local private sector.

This came during a meeting between HE Mr. Walid Bu Khater, second deputy  chairman of the board, and HE Manuel Antonio González Sanz, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Costa Rica, accompanied by Francisco Chacon, Costa Rican Ambassador to the UAE, and Omar Ali Saleh, Director of the Department of International Relations.

The meeting reviewed of the growing bilateral relations and the economy, the means to fostering them to meet the aspirations of the two sides and establishing trade and investment partnerships. Sharjah Chamber’s planned visit to the Republic of Costa Rica this January for discovering the reality of the investment environment and the opportunities available to investors and businessmen from both sides was discussed in addition to establishing a constructive and fruitful cooperation to strengthen the UAE’s relations with various countries across the globe and countries of Central America in particular.

Sharjah Chamber looks forward to continuing to build the best relations with the business community in Costa Rica in light of the meeting held last January between His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and President Guillermo Solís Rivera of Costa Rica during his visit to Sharjah, during which the two sides discussed ways of cooperation in the economic field and the consolidation of joint relations. The signing of a memorandum of understanding between Sharjah Chamber and the Export Promotion Agency of Costa Rica was signed with the aim of developing cooperation and strengthening trade relations and mutual investment between Sharjah and Costa Rica.

It is worth mentioning that the signing of the MoU with Sharjah Chamber aimed at developing mutual cooperation and strengthening trade relations and coordination to promote mutual investment between Costa Rica and Sharjah in a framework of equality and mutual benefit.
