Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), represented by Sharjah Exports Development Centre (SEDC), participated in Global Food Week 2026 (GFW), held from 6 to 8 October at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi.
Organised by ADNEC Group in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA), the event brought together 2,580 exhibitors and brands from 92 countries, marking its largest edition to date. It served as a world-class platform uniting investors, buyers, farmers, agri-producers, manufacturers, policymakers, researchers, and innovators from across the global food, agriculture, and technology sectors.
Sharjah Chamber participated through a dedicated platform featuring representatives from food manufacturing and trading companies in Sharjah. The platform provided these companies with opportunities to showcase their products, demonstrate their competitive capabilities, and connect directly with buyers, importers, and investors across diverse markets.
This engagement aimed to unlock new opportunities for expansion and export growth, while fostering trade and investment partnerships that support business development and facilitate entry into new regional and international markets.
The Chamber showcased the strengths and key capabilities of Sharjah’s food sector and the promising opportunities it offers for business growth and expansion. It also highlighted SCCI’s role in supporting companies operating in the sector by facilitating market access and strengthening their export capabilities.
SCCI also presented a range of initiatives and projects designed to advance the food security ecosystem, including the National Food Factory project, which it is developing in the Hamda area of Mleiha. With an annual production capacity of up to 5,000 metric tonnes, the project aims to increase the commercial value of locally produced agricultural products, support local farmers and agri-producers, and provide integrated food processing solutions for local, regional, and international markets.
SCCI affirmed that its participation in Global Food Week 2026 reflects its commitment to enhancing Sharjah’s regional and international profile in the food industry and food trade, showcasing the emirate’s competitive advantages in this sector, and highlighting the supportive environment it provides for business growth and investment.
The Chamber noted that Sharjah’s food and beverage sector recorded 112% growth in project volume in 2025, underscoring the emirate’s growing appeal to investors in this field and its position as a regional hub for food security and related industries.
