HE Abdullah Sultan Al Oweis, Chairman of the Board of Sharjah Chamber, met recently at its headquarters HE Abdou Raouf Ahamada, Consul General of the Comoros and discussed enhancing cooperation ties between the Chamber and the Consulate General for the interest of the two nations.
The meeting, attended by HE Khaled bin Butti Al Hajeri, Director General of Sharjah Chamber, and Salem Omar, Deputy Consul General of Comoros, discussed creating programs and events to introduce the investment opportunities available to the business communities of both countries at the other side, and both discussed the services and facilities provided by Sharjah Chamber for its members from the private sector, and the readiness for cooperation in supporting companies and establishments from the Comoros that wish to invest in the emirate.
The Consul General expressed great interest in Sharjah emirate’s experience in supporting and managing investment opportunities for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), and discussed replicating this successful experience in his country; HE the Chairman expressed the Chamber’s total willingness to offer its accumulative experience and expertise to the business community in the Comoros.
The Consul General of the Comoros thanked Sharjah Chamber for its continual efforts in developing economic ties between the two countries through various means of support and cooperation and outstanding facilities provided by the Chamber to support his country’s economy in all fields.
Director General Receives Head of the China Council for the Development of International Trade
HE Khaled bin Butti Al Hajeri, Director General, met Jiang Shijing, outgoing representative of the China Council for the Development of International Trade in the Gulf region, who was accompanied by Zhou Guangju, the new representative of the council, in the attendance of Mohammad Ahmed Amin, Director General Assistant for Communication and Business Sector, and Omar Ali Saleh, Director of International Relations Department.
Al Hajeri praised the huge role being played by the China Council that is based in Sharjah to increase the trade volume between the two countries and starting new Chinese investment projects in Sharjah, and praised the huge efforts made by the outgoing representative of the Chinese Council that contributed to enhancing economic ties between the two countries, and stressed the Chamber’s continual support and providing all facilities available to assist the new representative in his mandate.
The Director General praised the goals achieved in the past few years and stressed that today’s meeting is a continuation of the cooperation started with a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 1988 between the two sides that has had a positive effect on economic ties between the two countries.
For his part the new representative expressed his appreciation of the role being played by Sharjah Chamber in motivating cooperation and economic partnerships between the business communities in the two countries and the huge facilities provided by the Chamber for Chinese investors and its constant safeguarding the interests of the business community in Sharjah and enhancing bilateral relations between Sharjah and China.
