Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a retreat for its staff under the banner “Retreat of Goodness” that was aimed at encouraging creative ideas and suggestions, and putting in place a work map for the Chamber to put into effect the Year of Goodness called for by His Highness Sheikh Khalifah bin Zayed Al Nahayan, President of the UAE. Sharjah Chamber is keen to launch initiatives that instill these principals in society, and motivate events held by the business community in Sharjah for charity work, partnership and collaboration to serve the homeland in all fields.

The Retreat was attended by HE Khaled bin Butti Al Hajeri, Director General, Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Director of the Economic Relations and Marketing Department, Jamal Bu Zinjal, Director of the Media Department, Muna Al Suwaidi, member of the local committee of the Year of Giving 2017 in Sharjah and more directors, section heads and staff at the Chamber.

Khaled Al Hajeri said that organizing the retreat came in line with designating 2017 as the Year of Giving in the UAE  by His Highness the President, and initiates interaction with the local community for the Year of Giving in Sharjah, in which the Chamber is a member. 

His Excellency said: “the Goodness Retreat aims to showcase the Chamber’s role and pioneering role in charitable work and initiatives, volunteerism and humanitarian work within a frame work of social responsibility, and this retreat motivates and encourages staff to bring forth their suggestions that support this role in order to benefit from the year of giving, in cooperation and coordination with the local committee authorized to transform it into events in the near future and embodies Sharjah Chamber’s interaction with this initiative to serve society.
