Thirty graduates of the Future Global Trade Leaders Program made up the first batch of the program, a national initiative aimed at attracting more cadres working local and federal government institutions and free zones in the various sectors of the country’s foreign trade, in addition to enhancing preparations to host the 13th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization and to participate in multilateral trade events in the future.
Sharjah Chamber’s graduates of the program included Fatima Khalifa Al-Muqarrab, Director of the International Relations Department, Lamia Abdul Rahman Al Jasmi, Head of Export Services and Market Management Section, Mai Sultan Bin Haddah, Head of International Cooperation and Partnerships Section, and Sultan Abdullah Al Ali, Senior Investors Services Executive.
The graduation ceremony was held on the sidelines of the Thirteenth Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, and His Excellency Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization. The program is aimed at increasing foreign trade with the UAE and achieving goals related to diversifying the economic base, accelerating GDP growth, stimulating non-oil exports, supporting innovation and preparing the next generation of people with talent, competencies and creative ideas.
