The 32nd Sharjah Ramadan Festival, a major social and economic local event, organised by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), concluded on a high note after 33 days, achieving sales worth over AED 250 million and a 20% growth over the previous year.
The event attracted shoppers and visitors of various nationalities thanks to the great promotions and discounts. The last event launched by Sharjah Chamber as part of the festival before its conclusion was "Eid Days" initiative, with a final raffle draw held in collaboration with Sharjah TV at Sahara Center and Al Rahmaniya Mall, where five cars were given away to five lucky shoppers, along with valuable prizes, purchase vouchers and gifts.
Over 2,000 shops participated, offering products in all cities across Sharjah emirate, at discounts of up to 75% on brands, products, and toys.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohamed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director General, stated that the 32nd Sharjah Ramadan Festival exceeded the Chamber's expectations and contributed to unexpected increases in retail sales: "The event has increased demand for internal and external tourism and provided Sharjah’s visitors with an ideal opportunity to explore the emirate and enjoy its sociable atmosphere," Al Awadi said, adding Sharjah’s leadership is always keen to provide for the emirate's as the best city for people to live and work in.
Abdul Aziz Shattaf, Assistant Director General for the Communications and Business Sector, elaborated that "Since its inception, Sharjah Ramadan Festival has combined entertainment and fun while promoting various economic sectors associated with it."
"As a result, the festival has become an economically and socially significant event locally as well as regionally, an annual platform for showcasing the emirate's economic, cultural and tourism, sectors," he explained.
Lauding the event’s outcomes, Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan, General Coordinator of the festival, said, " Sharjah Ramadan Festival is a remarkable annual event that we’re keen to organise to offer a memorable shopping experience. We witnessed excellent cooperation between the Chamber and the participating entities from the public and private sectors, which contributed to achieving outstanding results in sales volumes and visitor turnout, which exceeded our expectations."
