Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), in cooperation with public and private sector institutions, launched the 32nd Sharjah Ramadan Festival, which features events and activities across the emirate, offering massive deals and big prizes at key department stores.
The festival this year is packed with cultural, religious and recreational events with a special focus on Emirati heritage, customs, and traditions practiced in Ramadan. Shopping centres and retail outlets taking part are offering discounts of up to 75% on a variety of consumer items as well as luxury brands.
HE Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General, noted: " The 32nd Sharjah Ramadan Festival clearly reflects Sharjah's status as a favored global tourism and shopping destination … Sharjah works hard to enrich the festival with new activities to maintain the emirate's leading position in the festivals and events industry, thanks to the vision and support of its wise leadership."
Abdulaziz Shattaf, Assistant Director General for the Communication and Business Sector, explained: "Sharjah Ramadan Festival has become a major shopping event across the emirate thanks to its contribution to the economic momentum and support for the business community, encouraging entrepreneurs to enter the markets and showcase their products. This is in addition to religious, cultural and social activities appropriate for the holy month of Ramadan."
Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan, General Coordinator of the Festival, added: "This year’s edition is focusing on quality and the diversity of events to motivate the retail and other related sectors. It is also loaded with activities and events for family members of all age groups.
" Al Jarwan voiced his hope that the festival would see remarkable turnout for the whole community.
