The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) recently received a delegation from the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce to discuss strengthening joint cooperation between Sharjah and Brazil, increase the volume of intra-trade, and open up prospects for partnerships between business communities and investors from both sides.
HE Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman, SCCI, underlined that Sharjah Chamber is very keen to boost economic cooperation between Sharjah and Brazil to advanced stages, while continuing to provide all possible facilities that enhance trade relations and mutual investment and develop links between the private business sector in the two friendly countries.
He pointed out that Brazil is a strategic partner of the UAE, and it is one of the countries in South America that has the most relationship with the UAE, highlighting that the volume of non-oil trade exchange between the two countries during the year 2020 amounted to about 2.8 billion US dollars, despite the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic on global trade.
For his part, Osmar Chohfi, President of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, lauded the sophisticated logistical infrastructure of Sharjah and its keenness to promote investments and provide advanced systems for establishing businesses and free zones with modern infrastructure.
Chohfi also commended Sharjah's distinguished educational and academic sector, which makes way for building a more vibrant future alliance between Brazil and Sharjah
