The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, SCCI, has confirmed its participation in the first digital edition of the UAE Ministry of Economy’s Annual Investment Meeting (AIM), scheduled to be held from 20 to 22 October under the theme “Reimagining Economies: The Move towards a Digital, Sustainable and Resilient Future”.
The SCCI will be taking part in the virtual sessions of the event, in addition to the participation in the accompanying exhibition through a virtual booth.
Through this participation, the SCCI is looking forward to introducing the great economic potential of the Emirate of Sharjah to the participants from the international business community and investment entities, as well as to spotlight smoothness of the SCCI membership procedures, the privileges given to businessmen and investors, and the underlying opportunities in different sectors in Sharjah.
“Our strategy is to take part in the local and international events to highlight the most important investment opportunities and advantages in Sharjah,” said HE Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director General of SCCI, “The AIM is a perfect networking opportunity with leaders and representatives of the regional and international economic authorities to get them acquainted with the unique investment and business climate in the emirate.”
Bringing together a variety of stakeholders in the business community, the AIM will be exploring the digital economy topic as a key pillar to the future industry, a benchmark for economic growth and uplifting services, as well as being a catalyst for the growth of global markets and emerging business sectors, especially in light of the economic changes due to Covid-19 repercussions.
Al-Awadi added: “The SCCI members and affiliates will have the chance to meet with 25,000 investors and economists coming from 176 countries to take part in this virtual forum. It’s an ideal opportunity for them to learn closely about the recent concepts and to exchange experiences, as well as to showcase the potential partnerships and businesses.”
“Our participation also reflects the SCCI’s capabilities and its success in keeping abreast of major technological trends in the world and leveraging them to enhance services and resources and streamline the practicing of the existing services to reinforce sustainable development and business competitiveness,”
Concluding his remarks, Al-Awadi said: “This gathering is an opportunity to consolidate existing trade and investment relations and build new partnerships, as part of the SCCI’s efforts to develop economic relations and to bolster foreign trade exchange, as well as to attract foreign investment and highlight the competitive advantages of the Emirate of Sharjah as a leading hub for establishing businesses at the regional level.”
