As part of its strategy to prepare an elite of functional leaders and competencies capable of enhancing Sharjah’s sustainable development process, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI), represented by the Sharjah Training & Development Centre (STDC), organized a series of online training courses aimed at developing skills of the Chamber and its affiliated institutions' employees.
Titled the “Professional Executive Director Programme”, the first training course was held in cooperation with the Secretariat of the Sharjah Excellence Award and was presented by the trainer Omar Murad. The program targeted department directors at SCCI and its offices, where the participants learned about the traits, skills, and qualifications of the successful executive director and the types of leaders according to the efficiency and effectiveness theory, in light of the fact that the leadership is a social interaction process based on the characteristics of the organization and how to drive the entire employees toward achieving the sought-after goals.
The second course carried the name “Development of behavioral & leadership competencies” and was presented by the trainer Mohaned Darwish. The 3-day event focused on how to properly make decisions and strategic planning, the importance of communication, self-motivation, and creativity in performing functional tasks, the relationship with colleagues and customers, the management and development of employees, and the planning and distribution of work.
“We are committed to creating an environment that stimulates innovation and creativity and strengthens the capabilities of our staff to distinctively serve the interests of the business community,” said HE Mohammad Ahmed Amin Al-Awadi, SCCI Director-General, “The SCCI is also keen to elevate the staff awareness about the distinguished corporate performance programs to help increase our customers’ satisfaction with the service quality,”
Al-Awadi called on the employees to invest their ideas and expertise and to adopt the best corporate practices to serve the strategic objectives of Sharjah.
“The STDC provides a host of business-community-oriented training courses that cater to their needs and provide full support to help get through all the challenges,” said Maryam Saif Al Shamsi, Assistant General Director, Support Sector of the SCCI, “In addition, we offer the employees of the government bodies and the SCCI and its affiliated institutions training courses in coordination with the most renowned local and international academic and training institutions to scout and qualify the leadership competencies as per corporate values and standards,”
“The STDC, in accordance with the SCCI’s strategy, is keen to hold various courses and workshops aimed at enhancing the human cadres in different disciplines and boosting the quality of services,” said Amal Al Ali, Director, STDC.
The trainees highlighted the importance and impact of the training courses on their businesses, lauding the SCCI’s and the STDC’s efforts to provide diverse workshops conducive to the creation of a distinctive and sustainable work environment.
