Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted the Georgia – UAE Business Forum, organized by the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, on the occasion of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Chairman’s visit to the UAE, as part of joint efforts aimed at increasing meetings and visits between UAE and Georgian private sector officials in order to increase trade and investment activities between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by HE Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of Sharjah Chamber and Vice-Chairman of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, HE Saeed Muhammad Al-Sayyah, First Deputy Chairman of the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber, and Ali Al-Khayal, board member, HE Humaid Muhammad Bin Salem, Secretary-General of the Federation UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, HE Giorgi Bertaya, Chairman of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, HE Pataka Landazi, Ambassador of the Republic of Georgia in the UAE, HE Mohamed Ahmed Amin Al-Awadhi, Director General, Sharjah Chamber, and Mohamed Hassan Al Sabbab, acting Director General of the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber, in addition to a number of business owners in Sharjah.
The meeting discussed consolidating economic relations between the private sectors in the UAE and reviewed all available investment opportunities, especially in tourism, real estate, energy, construction and agriculture.
On behalf of the Federation of UAE Chambers and Sharjah Chamber His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais expressed his delight for hosting this meeting to form a new platform for finding effective partnerships that benefit the private sectors and the economies of both sides, stressing the importance of providing businessmen with the opportunity to discuss possible cooperation prospects and investment, to continue to grow the trade exchange between the two friendly countries, which amounted to 909 million UAE dirhams in 2018. Al Oweis explained that investment opportunities that are available for the two sides foster the establishment of strong strategic partnerships. The meeting was concluded with the signing of an MoU between the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
