HE Abdullah Al Owais, Chairman, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), and HE Abdul Rahim Rahali, Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco, discussed ways of cooperation between the Chamber and the consulate and the implementation of joint economic and trade events that help enhance investment and economic and trade relations between the UAE and Morocco.
At a recent meeting attended by HE Khalid Bin Butti Al Hajri, Director General, Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Director of Economic Relations and Marketing department, and Omar Ali Saleh, Director of the International Relations department, the two sides discussed the possibility of organizing economic and commercial activities that contribute to familiarizing investment opportunities for each party, cooperation between the two countries' business communities and building mutual trade and investment partnerships within the private sectors.
The two sides discussed the proposal to organize an official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco comprising representatives of the various economic sectors in the emirate, as well as organizing a trade fair in Morocco for industrial and productive companies operating in Sharjah to find potential partners in the Moroccan market and researching potential fields for cooperation.
HE Abdullah Al Owais praised the strong bilateral relations between the UAE and the Kingdom of Morocco that enjoy the support of the political leadership of both countries. He said that the level of economic cooperation calls for intensifying efforts that enable the private sector to benefit from the investment opportunities and incentives available to increase the size of partnership and increase trade of goods and products that each party is known for, especially since both sides enjoy geographical locations that enable them to access their respective regional markets.
For his part HE Abdul Rahim Rahali, Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco, praised the strong relations between the UAE and Morocco, stressing his country's keenness to attract UAE businessmen and investors, enhance existing partnership opportunities, develop economic relations and increase trade exchange.
The two sides also discussed the possibility of hosting economic activities under the theme "Morocco Economic Days in Sharjah" to be held at the Expo Center Sharjah and organized by the Chamber in cooperation with the concerned ministry in the Kingdom of Morocco and the sponsorship of the Consulate General of Morocco in Dubai, an effective and multi-dimensional contribution to the development of economic and trade relations between the two countries through the presentation and promotion of the Moroccan side of its various products and services, as well as introducing intellectual and creative products of Morocco in the artistic, cultural and other aspects that deepen human relations And evolution.
