Mr. Saeed Ghanim Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Representative Committee of the Real Estate Sector at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), revealed that a business plan is being put in place to promote the Emirate’s real estate sector at the overseas exhibitions, with a particular focus on the GCC countries, as the GCC investors account for a large portion of the total investments in Sharjah’s real estate sector.
Al Suwaidi clarified the participation in exhibitions in the targeted markets will be a significant part of the plan. In addition, efforts will be made in collaboration with the SCCI and other stakeholders to promote the competitiveness of Sharjah’s real estate sector and the importance of the Emirate as a destination of choice for investors.
The statement was made during the periodical meeting of the Representative Committee of the Real Estate Sector at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which was held at the SCCI’s headquarter, in the presence of the chamber’s members, alongside Mr. Obaid Al Mazloum, representative of the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department and Mr. Amjad Awad, Head of the Representative Committees at the SCCI.
He added: “The top priority on the agenda is to approve a strategy to stimulate the real estate sector, which is one of the pillars of the Emirate’s economy. We continue our coordination with our partners in the SCCI and the concerned government agencies to explore ways to advance the progress of this sector and maintain its competitive edge.
Attendees presented the real estate landscape in Sharjah and set up a business plan that is in line with the prudent directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. The plan took into account the requirements of the market and the current condition in the region.
Attendees discussed organizing a series of workshops and training courses, starting from Kalba and the Eastern Region of the Emirate, in collaboration with the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department. Raising awareness about the real estate requirements and improving communication between real estate agents and the RERD will be the major objectives of the events.
The committee members examined the report of the real estate transactions, issued by the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department. They commended the collaboration with the department which serves the interests of all real estate professionals. They stressed that the constructive dialogue with the RERD portrays the depth of the partnership between the public and private sectors. They underscored that this PPP is and additional competitive edge of the business community in Sharjah.
Attendees agreed to identify the regional and international industry exhibitions and to select the best ones for participation in. The recommended supporting the real estate exhibitions which will be organized by the RERD next year.
Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Amin, Director General Assistant for Communication and Business Sector at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the Representative Committees constitute a major part of the SCCI’s initiatives aimed at encouraging the private sector to play its vital role in the Emirate’s economy. He underlined that the input of these industry specific groups help address the challenges and find the appropriate solutions to invigorate each respective sector
