Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry discussed enhancing opportunities for cooperation with the General Union of Chambers of Commerce - Industry and Agriculture for Arab Countries (GUCCIAAC), and to increase joint efforts to support the process of comprehensive and sustainable economic development in the Arab countries and develop cooperation between chambers and members.

This came at the reception of Shaheen Ali Shaheen, Assistant Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chambers, at the Chamber’s headquarters,  by HE Abdulla Sultan Al Oweis, Chairman of the Board of Sharjah Chamber, , with Mohammad Ahmed Amin, Assistant Director General for the Communication and Business Sector in attendance. 

The two sides discussed increasing investment and trade between the business communities, encouraging businessmen and Arab companies to take advantage of rewarding opportunities for investment in Sharjah and its attractive economic environment for investors.

HE Chairman of Sharjah Chamber received during the meeting an official invitation from the Union of Arab Chambers to attend the Africa - Arab Economic Forum to be held under the theme “Road Map and Available Financing for Successful Investment” in the Jordanian capital Amman 27-28 September.

Al Oweis confirmed Sharjah Chamber’s keenness to support all efforts that aim to enhance cooperation among the Arab business community and develop sustainable investment and commercial relations for the private sector in the Arab countries in the different economic and developmental fields.

Al Oweis praised efforts made by the Union of Arab Chambers to develop economic, commercial, and cultural relations and the Union’s initiatives to cement cooperation and the exchange of expertise among the Chambers and members, eventually strengthening Arab economic ties.
