His Excellency Khaled bin Butti Al Hajeri, Director General of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stressed that the initiative by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahayan to designate the year 2018 as The Year of Zayed dedicates the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahayan’s journey to represent a vital epoch of the history of the United Arab Emirates, to embody the quest of a leader whose life was distinguished by huge achievements and giving for the benefit of his people and humanity. 

Al Hajeri said: “Announcing the year 2018 as The Year of Zayed is a national event to celebrate 100 years since the birth of the founding leader “Zayed of Goodness”, bless his soul, an historic occasion to celebrate Zayed’s journey, to give back to the nation, having a sense of belonging to its noble land and being faithful to its wise leadership, to continue giving, sacrificing, and working hard, for the UAE’s leadership, glory and advancement”.

Al Hajeri concluded: Zayed of Goodness was an inspiring leader who managed to build a country with few peers around the world and managed to nurture his people with the values of giving, goodness, honesty and helping all those in need, until the UAE’s good reputation and the hands of “Zayed of Goodness” reached all corners of the globe, for humankind’s happiness and dignity, with his legacy still ingrained in the being of all who knew him, and the souls of all whose white hands had reached.
