The delegation of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry participated in the 8th session of Turkmenistan International Forum for Investment. More than 20 countries participated to shed light on cooperation in all fields of economy and trade.
The delegation, which included Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan, Head of Economic Relations Department and Humaid Al Kayal, Executive Economic Promotional, discussed ways to enhance bilateral economic and trade cooperation between the two sides.
The forum, held at the convention center in the Lavazza tourist zone in Turkmenistan yesterday, pointed out the benefit of mutual investment between the two parties in transport, communications, construction, logistics, banking and financial services, insurance, in addition to the chemical industry, agriculture, health care, and other promising sectors in the Republic of Turkmenistan.
“Our partaking in the Turkmenistan International Investment Forum aims to exchange experiences with other countries in all fields, in order to expand investments opportunities abroad for Emirati businessmen around the globe, as well as to enhance the local economy”, Ibrahim Jarwan said.
He added: “The Chamber’s participation in this forum provides an authentic opportunity for the Turkmenistan side to conduct fruitful business meetings with international participants in the forum.”
He continued: “We emphasize on the possibilities of cooperation with Turkmenistan, as we are keen to support economic and commercial institutions operating in Sharjah to go for new investment opportunities.”
Jarwan further explained that the participation of SCCI in various regional and international economic forums is crucial, as it promotes a suitable environment for Emirate investments.
Turkmenistan is considered one of the richest natural resources of gas and energy. Ongoing efforts have been taking place in the country to attract international investments, increase the competitiveness of its exports, and modernize its institutions.
