SCCI celebrates UAE Women’s Day    10/17/2016

Celebrating the UAE Women’s Day on 28th August, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) organized a seminar entitled (Women and Innovation), attended by a number of the chamber’s female staff. H.E. Sara Al Madani SCCI Board Member and Member of the Board of Trustees talked to the attendees about the role of the UAE women and the high status they managed to attain in all fields and walks of life.

Al Madani affirmed the significance of the UAE women’s achievements since the formation of the Union on 2nd December 1971 until today. She stressed the importance of knowledge, which has become an integral part of businesses today especially with the prevalence of modern IT technologies which necessitate more innovation and hard work in economy and other fields as well.

Al Madani explained that SCCI is always keen to help boost the status of Sharjah as a first choice destination for local and international companies. She added that the chamber saves no efforts to support business women wishing to invest in the many opportunities the Emirate can offer.

Al Madani, one of the young business female pioneers in the UAE, said that the UAE women will become even more successful in the future under the thoughtful, supportive and wise UAE leadership. She expressed her confidence in the UAE’s women who are capable of more achievements and successes in support of the UAE and its economic and social development.

At the end of the seminar, Al Madani received a letter of appreciation from Mrs Nabila AL Khayyal human resources expert in recognition of her efforts in enriching the seminar and talking about her own personal experience as a successful business woman.

28th August was selected to be the UAE Women’s Day following the directions of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood. The day marks the birth of the General Women’s Union on 28th August 1975.

This national occasion reflects the UAE women’s big achievements in developing the country and is meant to be a sign of appreciation for their efforts in enhancing the country’s development and growth.
